Filming Day 2
hello again!
Today after school we filmed some more towards our final video, today we didn't get as much done as we intended. We were still getting use to using the equipment and it turns that some of the footage we filmed previously weren't in focus and didn't look good when it came to editing so we had to spend more time re-filming these bits which took up a lot of our time. Meaning we didn't get as much filming done as we wanted to, hopefully when we look at the footage they will be ok and in focus.
Thank you for reading and I will update you when we next film, bye.

Our Logo!
Here is the logo we created on Premier Pro, although it isn't much I think that it suits our production as it is simple and formal.

Filming Day 1
Hello!
well after attempting to film in our desired location we had to change to a complete other location to make our film work without numerous disruptions from cars driving past as well as the loud wild! So we ended up filming in another location that we didn't even think about filming in, however it was successful, and we managed to get the first half of our film recorded within a few hours. It was a lot harder then we thought, and did take a few hours to get a small part of it completed, and is going to take a lot more filming then we intended.
I will be writing another post when we film again, thanks for reading!

Failed filming
hello everyone,
over the weekend me and my group went on a Sunday to film some footage for our thriller, we had chose our location and thought that it would the ideal place to film. however when we got there it was really windy and it effected the sound and you were unable to hear the conversation in the video. Also we were filming from across the road and the road was really busy and cars kept driving past making it really hard to get footage without a car driving past as well as the sound the cars were making. So this effect all the footage and in the end we are having to start it again at another location which is much quieter.

Being the examiner
So in today's lesson we had the task of being the examiner for some previous media projects, we were given a mark scheme and looked at what each level required and then watched a few examples. Doing this was a lot harder than I expected, and on one or two of the examples we watched I marked them a lower level then they actually was. However, this task was one that really helped me this is because it did make me feel a lot more confident for when it comes to filming our thriller video because now I know that it's not as hard as I thought to get a good grade.
This was the first one that we watched and I think that the editing on this clip was the best out of all the ones that we watched, and the sound was really effective throughout and made it scary. However without the great use of sound and special affects I don't think that the clip would be very thrilling for me, so for this reason I thought that it would be a high level 3, however it was a level 4 and scored 48/60 by the real examiner which didn't really surprise me because you can easily tell that a lot of effort was put into it.
On this opening I gave it a high level 3/4 I particularly like the shots from behind showing a silhouette of him, however I think that it would have been creepier if you didn't already see his face because it would add to the mystery of to why he was doing what he was doing. I also really liked the music used during the shot from behind because I feel like it really built up the tension. However I feel like it was seen as a bit comical due to the close up of the socks, resulting in it being less scary. The mark it was given by the real examiner was 56/60 which was a level 4.
For this opening I gave it a level 2/3, I was really surprised when it got 47/60 because it was said that it looked more like a trailer then an opening to a movie, I also thought that some parts didn't match, such as it being night time and then dark.
these were all the examples we watched, thank you for reading and ill see you on my next post!

Story Board
Audience Research
For our thriller we need a specific audience to target, we decided that we would be best targeting our thriller to an audience of our age, this is because if we are the same age as the audience we are more likely to know what they want to see in a thriller, meaning we are able to ensure it suits this audience. We decided in the end that our thriller would have a rating of 15, this means we are able to explore mature ideas and thriller conventions without it being too violent and explicit. To find out what our audience wants to see in a thriller I have interviewed some of our target audience, here are the questions I asked:
- what is the main thing you want to see in a thriller?
- would you rather that conventions are challenged or a thriller be stereotypical, for example, have a girl victim and a male villain.
